QUIC is a network layer protocol implemented over UDP. Simply put, QUIC is an improvement over TCP. On top of TCP, QUIC also provides:
- Dramatically reduced connection establishment time
- Improved congestion control
- Multiplexing without head of line blocking
- Forward error correction
- Connection migration
